Bobo Dormouse - The best book for reading aloud to children from 2 years

Bobo_2 NeuenVorlesebuch) When searching for one for Tim (then 1.5 years old, I am on the following rowohlt Paperback pushed out of the publishing house: "Bobo Dormouse: Picture Stories for very little." It was recommended to me from the mothers and toddlers group which already had older children. Then they were gone all super excited, I moved straight into the city and bought it. I myself would have never chosen this book without this tip on the way home and was still fairly skeptical. It was a normal paperback, was only weakly colored pictures, at first glance really is no blockbuster. But no one can be deceived ....

This book is really absolutely the best read-aloud book that has fallen into my hands. Tim was enthusiastic from the beginning. We have him read the stories of the Seven Bobo certainly over a hundred times. Night after night. And as excited as Tim had other children, which I read over the years from this book or that I have given this book. And the nice thing, I like guys and girls alike.

Kids love exactly what makes this book seem at first glance it unspektaklär. The more than 200 pictures are kept very simple. In general, there are 4 pictures on a double page, each of which will be described with one or two clear, simple sentences. And the stories are all taken from the infant life the 2-4 year olds. Overall, the book has 7 stories: Bobo's home, while shopping, the zoo, on the playground, Bobo is sick in the garden with pool and Bobo's birthday. All things that the children themselves have already experienced. The length of each story is also ideal for very young children. Particularly well illustrated Tim liked the way the index. This is what we always had to strike first, so he then could choose a story. As Bobo falls asleep on the way, the end of each story, the stories are particularly suitable as bedtime stories.

Mittlerweilen there are several follow-volumes, which touched but not in my opinion, the quality of the first volume. All books are available mitlerweile Bobo as a hardcover edition. I myself give away only the hardcover edition of the first Bobo Dormouse book because the book is thicker through the pages and hard cover much more stable. In addition, the images of the bound edition are colorful.

Quite a lot of fun while reading!

Feng Shui: The optimal desk and work area for my child

yinjang_grau_blau1 Today's is in a bit of feng shui to be more specific. How can the work area (desk, shelves, etc. of my child) with the best design? (applies also for their own jobs!)

It is important to make the desktop and its location can also be concentrated work over a longer period. Feng Shui can give us parents doing useful tips. Well I personally think that you can feel the effect of the changes immediately. Children are often very sensitive and this should be strictly in the process of optimizing its operating range to be included.

Let's go!

- First, the writing should necessarily be aligned so that one has a good view of the door. This provides an optimal overview and will therefore provide a sense of security - a relic from the Stone Age days.

- The desk should not in the "Energy-threading" position. What does it mean? Imagine, energy would flow along logical paths around the window-in, the room through the door and back out again, or vice versa. Is the desk in such a path, energy is carried away here ". It is better if it takes place outside of such a course is available or is protected by another piece of furniture. The energy can be slowed, for example, by a curtain. You can see the way these matters esoteric or imagine themselves as scientifically determined, it is this or that.

- It has to be noted that the areas of learning / working and sleeping should be clearly separated. If the child behind his desk always looks at his bed, is a feeling of tiredness and exhaustion is not enough.

- Also, a focused work will naturally be more difficult if the eye is constantly distracted, for example, by a lot of toys, many different posters on the walls, a television ...

So besser nicht

So better not

- Chaos on the desktop also makes effective working hard. First of lack of sufficient space and then there is there always so much to discover, this is perhaps interressantes than the homework. The textbooks and exercise books really need a secure place outside of the barrel, not on your desk or even on the floor.

- Together with their child, you should regularly go through the school stuff and sort out the superfluous, such as books from last school year, full magazines, old workbooks. Things that are not needed at present, no longer belong to the workplace. I am not afraid to get some directly into the waste paper container.

- "Hidden Darts" are another reason for discomfort. By this we mean everything's great, or Sharp, which shows to us, or if in our direction. This can be dangerous corners of a prominent shelf, pointed leaves as a Yukkapalme, but also to the inside edge of the area lying. Look closely at all, according to what one might get hurt. How to find these arrows automatically. Keep in mind that it's not all about the risk of injury, but also the subconscious feeling in the vicinity of such places.

Together, even cooking with young children

kochen-mit-kindern Children make from the outset, things like that make us as well. They learn by imitation. Even as a little child Tim always wanted to be close to the action, if I cooked. His favorite place was the countertop. But other small children, which I watch out, love this place. There she would sit and look into the pots and mixing a little snack or easy.

It has been my experience that children food that they eat themselves have prepared, much more. Volunteering can have very small children. You knead it, for example, enjoy a pizza dough or dough, or roll out similar to the plate. Or they distribute something on the plate or in a casserole dish. You can of course also needed to wash fruit or vegetables or picking fresh herbs.

When children have learned that pots and stove are hot and do not try to touch, they can stir sauces, soups or vegetables and add the prepared ingredients and spices. One should, however, they can in no case alone. Of course, one must be careful even when frying as meat especially that children are protected from Fettspritzern - runtersetzen in doubt, dear! Keep children also like the electric mixer. Here, care must be taken, however, good that the mixer is actually handled with both hands. The temptation to nibble during the Mixens is very large and the danger is quickly forgotten in young children.

In a next step, they can then chop finely and the required ingredients. Even here, of course, one must first induce most.

In the beginning, of course, you need patience when cooking together. Children are usually not in a hurry and need to learn the respective handles. The joint activity itself but provides the opportunity to come to rest. Do we have to hurry, anyway? While working jointly quängelt sure no one and the children are supervised and satisfied in general.

It can now Tim (12) all alone cook many dishes and is a real help. They especially like it intersects with our very good, sharp knives and tastes from the courts. Troller, we are now a well-coordinated team of chefs and from time to übenimmt Tim also cooking alone. And rightly so, he is proud of its results.

Language development: Should I improve my child forever?

"I've geseht ball." - "No, that is, I have the ball geseh en!"

mutter-und-kind

For people who correct speech is important, remains stubbornly in the habit of constantly improving their children if they speak false words or make grammatical errors. These constant interruptions, however, disrupt the natural flow of speech of the child and steer steadily from the nucleus. We should never forget that language has the task of making himself intelligible to others and tell them something. And to the "wrong" sentences of our little ones usually are sufficient. Ourselves, but it would become annoying if we ask in England after the way the restaurant or order something to talk about our nice and would interrupt constantly compared us to improve. And, even though he understood exactly what we mean. But as the child learns to speak properly because then if it is never mentioned by us in error? Is it not better for us to improve our children directly when they say something wrong? No! Children learn the correct forms of the grammar and the correct pronunciation of all alone. They are based on their role models - that is us! There is a simple and very effective way to promote children's language, without having the conversation is disrupted. They repeated in his response to the sentence of the child in his verbessertenVersion. In the example, provides input, for example like this:

"I've got the ball geseht." "Oh, did you see the ball, that's great. Where is he? "

Intuition and thinking puzzles promote stories CUS

"A man is sweating heavily. Nevertheless, he has gloves on. Why? (Level 1)

"Romeo and Juliet lie dead on the floor. The window is open, on the ground a pool of water. What happened? "(Level 2)

"All the world looks to them. Only Michael, who was a thousand times closer than any other, saw nothing. Why? (Level 3)

"Because he accidentally pressed the trigger, he had to die. What happened? "(Level 4)

Maybe you know this riddle stories even from her childhood and adolescence. Someone describes a daily, sometimes unusual or gruesome situation, and the others have skillfully yes-no questions to unravel what happened piece by piece.

On vacation, we spent a whole evening with our friend with the reconstruction and our kids had lots of fun just like us parents.

Meanwhile, we met at the bookstore for a whole collection of such puzzles, and that the first puzzle book from the popular puzzle inventor CUS: "What happened here?". In it the author has collected the one hand, more or less well-known puzzles and develop your own puzzles for others. (CUS is actually a nickname from the initials of the author. The most famous puzzle creator, Germany has also made himself into a mystery. You know that is neither his name nor his exact place of residence in Bavaria and in photos you see him with large, dark glasses, or only his shadow.)
The book has a total of 155 Mysteries, which are divided into 4 levels of difficulty (easy, medium, hard and hammer hard) puzzles. At the end of the book can be found at any riddle two tips that will to a helping hand if one's ideas proceed. The solutions of the puzzles are found naturally in the end.
Since then, we puzzle together regularly - such as when it once again the whole day raining outside, on long Autofarten, on walks or just because. We take turns with the role of the puzzle plate. This looks at the answers, read the two tips, and then presented the situation. The others must guess. Tim can not get enough of them. It makes him very fun to watch us in the desperate search for the right solution, and with malicious joy again and again "No, proclaiming," too. Just as he's happy but if the rates of sudden "aha" effect ceases and he recognizes the right solution. In my experience it is for children but frustrating when they come to the solution over a long period of seemingly no closer. This occurs in young children, of course, usually a faster than larger ones. This frustration boundary, you should under no circumstances overburden, since that will make it all so fun. The two proposed in the book of tips here are usually just right. Sometimes it helps the children but also, if you decide questions on something more than just "yes" or "no" answers. Even in a somewhat greater rate team can be sustained longer and perplexity, of course, easier to bear than alone.
Players who have the characteristic of the puzzle flash of inspiration, to announce their solution to the puzzle plate gently and then help in answering the questions, so that other members also have the chance on the great feeling that sets in when the Ratenuss is cracked.
Toll from these puzzles is that they encourage lateral thinking. The solution is usually simple and prevented only our limited view that we solve the puzzle right away. Even in real life, solving problems often is that it takes a different perspective. To solve the puzzle you need two things: methodology and intuition.
While it is specifically trained in the school methodology is the promotion of intuition is often neglected in education. Here, these puzzles also provide a very useful side effect.

So if you something for Christmas or a birthday is looking, I can fully recommend this book:

PS: The only "out of the frame falling" 2-star reviews at Amazon does not refer to this first volume of CUS, but on the successor book.
