Bobo Dormouse - The best book for reading aloud to children from 2 years

Bobo_2 NeuenVorlesebuch) When searching for one for Tim (then 1.5 years old, I am on the following rowohlt Paperback pushed out of the publishing house: "Bobo Dormouse: Picture Stories for very little." It was recommended to me from the mothers and toddlers group which already had older children. Then they were gone all super excited, I moved straight into the city and bought it. I personally would have never chosen this book without this tip on the way home and was still fairly skeptical. It was a normal paperback, was only weakly colored pictures, at first glance really is no blockbuster. But no one can be deceived ....

This book is really absolutely the best read-aloud book that has fallen into my hands. Tim was enthusiastic from the beginning. We have him read the stories of the Seven Bobo certainly over a hundred times. Night after night. And as excited as Tim had other children, which I read over the years from this book or that I have given this book. And the nice thing, I like guys and girls alike.

Kids love exactly what makes this book seem at first glance it unspektaklär. The more than 200 pictures are kept very simple. In general, there are 4 pictures on a double page, each of which will be described with one or two clear, simple sentences. And the stories are all taken from the infant life the 2-4 year olds. Overall, the book has 7 stories: Bobo's home, while shopping, the zoo, on the playground, Bobo is sick in the garden with pool and Bobo's birthday. All things that the children themselves have already experienced. The length of each story is also ideal for very young children. Particularly well illustrated Tim liked the way the index. This is what we always had to strike first, so he then could choose a story. As Bobo falls asleep on the way, the end of each story, the stories are particularly suitable as bedtime stories.

Mittlerweilen there are several follow-volumes, which touched but not in my opinion, the quality of the first volume. All books are available mitlerweile Bobo as a hardcover edition. I myself give away only the hardcover edition of the first Bobo Dormouse book because the book is thicker through the pages and hard cover much more stable. In addition, the images of the bound edition are colorful.

Quite a lot of fun while reading!

Read before the enrollment - good or bad?

In kindergarten I've always told mothers that their children ask them, teach them the letters or reading. Many mothers are here, but unsure. Some fear that the children will be bored in school, others that it is not seen by the teachers happy. So what should we do?

The need to decipher the signs of the adult world to be, is often high even during the nursery period. The children discover at this time every written word: signs, posters in kindergarten, text under pictures in their picture books, headlines in the newspaper articles on trading cards, etc. and they want to know what is there. Increasingly, they also are curious about any letter combination which word corresponds to. You want to first write their own names and then also the loved ones.

This natural joy of discovery is still great and should be curbed in my opinion, under any circumstances. Children go through many different stages in their development where they are interested in different things. At this time, they learn to "child", are highly motivated and should be positively supported by our parents.

On the other hand, parents are often quite eager that their children can read before school enrollment, and be expected to write something. If their child prior to school but not interested in teaching reading, you should not stop this either. Certainly, his attention is just focused on something else, and it is also important for the development of the child. Did you know for example that the swing is a necessary prerequisite for learning to read? So you support your child exactly when, which is focused specifically his interest.

Learning with Pokemon cards

In the course of the 2nd Kindergarten year, Tim told us: "My excavator phase is now over." (Until now be a backhoe and) everything. And so it did. Instead moved to this spot a new interest: Pokemon.

By Tim designed himself Pokemon Card

While my husband was leaving, I was initially quite shocked. Mutually antagonistic fantasy creatures finally stood in the circle of dedicated nursery mothers is anything but a premium. But the Pokemon enthusiasm of Tim and many other children in his kindergarten class could not be suppressed so easily. She was nurtured by those who could see everything on television and in principle all kinds of toys were actually oversupplied.
Finally, I decided to tackle the matter impartially. I looked at some of television episodes and could not share the horror really. Pikachu was pretty cute, the arena battles of the Pokemon you could somehow understand as a sport, and the story was mostly easy, but kid-friendly. Finally, in classic fairy tales are also good fighting against evil. As so often, it was among the mothers, only the fear of what one does not know.
Ultimately, the main interest focused on the children before the trading cards. Trying to learn, all the different Pokemon with their properties and their further development also failed for me, however. And the kids happy in this world, they are the experts.
Over the years, hundreds of cards collected, we have largely gained very favorable to children flea markets. They were with my son about 5 years faithful to his childhood.
Hold the job with these cards a waste of time because you can start later this "expertise" anything? Appearances are deceptive. My son has read far with Pokemon cards prior to school and learned how to deal with numbers. The skills for playing with the cards are ultimately essential. For the long term to find the child no adult who reads a constantly the cards. And is really on the older playmates reliance?
This motivation is better than any Leselernspiel. The cards teach addition, the fair-minded and action and replace the systematic sorting and categorizing the handling of data (each Pokemon has a type, CP-points for their strengths, weaknesses and resistances, attack different types of development, etc., one in completely elaborate world) to concrete data, and even his first English words came from a few cards that he had only in English.

His first steps in dealing with graphics software has learned Tim with Pokemon cards. At the top of seeing self-created Pokemon card he had to sit for many hours and in so doing acquire it some trick of graphic design.
